BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
By booking a Tour you acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you make a booking on behalf of other participants, you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept these Terms on behalf of the other participants in your party.
THE BOOKING CONTRACT
Your booking is confirmed—and a contract is established—once Thuneyo Safaris or its authorized agent issues a written confirmation after receiving the required deposit. Please review your confirmation carefully and notify us immediately of any errors. Ensure all names match those on your passport. Bookings must be made by individuals 18 years or older, using accurate and complete information. A 30% deposit is required to secure most bookings. However, Gorilla permits require full payment upfront.
If you book on behalf of others, you become the primary contact for the entire group. You are responsible for all payments, communicating any changes or cancellations to Thuneyo Safaris or the travel agent, and keeping your group informed. By doing so, you confirm that you have obtained the necessary consent from each participant and that all information provided is accurate. Thuneyo Safaris is not liable for any errors or omissions in the details you submit.
GENERAL PAYMENT TERMS
A 30% deposit is due within 10 days of reservation. The remaining balance must be paid at least 14 days before the tour begins. For bookings made less than 14 days before arrival, full payment is required prior to arrival.
DAMAGE AND LOST ITEMS
The client is responsible for any damage to the rented vehicle or its contents during the rental period, as well as for their personal belongings during the tour. Thuneyo Safaris is not liable for personal items left in accommodations or other premises. Lost and found items will be returned at the client’s expense.
COMPLAINTS
Any complaints regarding the tour, safari vehicle, or booked property must be reported immediately when they arise. For urgent issues requiring immediate attention, please call the 24-hour service number provided. Feedback can also be submitted in writing via email.
REQUIRED MEDICAL INFORMATION
You must provide any requested medical information and may be required to submit a completed medical form, especially if you have a condition that could affect your participation. Thuneyo Safaris may deny travel if your health poses a risk to yourself or others.
Pregnancy is considered a medical condition and must be disclosed at booking. Travel may be declined for women over 24 weeks pregnant or for those with conditions we cannot safely accommodate.
It is your responsibility to assess your fitness for the tour and consult a physician. Thuneyo Safaris may provide travel guideline but is not responsible for the availability or quality of medical care in remote areas.
PRICES, SURCHARGES AND TAXES
Tour prices and related services from Thuneyo Safaris may change at any time up to 30 days before departure. Prices exclude applicable taxes. After confirmation, surcharges may apply if costs increase due to fuel, transport, taxes, exchange rates, or government action—only if the increase exceeds 5% of the original price (excluding add-ons, insurance, and taxes). You’ll be notified promptly.
If the price increase exceeds 10%, you may cancel without penalty or accept the new price. You must inform Thuneyo Safaris of your choice within 14 days or it will be assumed you accept the change. Discounted rates will only apply to new bookings.
MANDATORY INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
You are required to have travel insurance that covers personal injury and emergency medical expenses. This will be verified on the first day of the tour. We strongly recommend extending your coverage to include cancellation, curtailment, and other travel-related risks. Insurance is not included in the tour price and must be arranged separately. It is your responsibility to ensure adequate coverage and inform your insurer of the nature of your trip, destinations, and activities.
CANCELLATION BY THE PARTICIPANT
To cancel a booking, the client must notify Thuneyo Safaris. Cancellation fees are based on when the notice is received:
Tailor-made tours may have different cancellation terms, which will be communicated at booking.
GUARANTEED DEPARTURES & CANCELLATION OF A TOUR BY THE TOUR OPERATOR
A tour departure is guaranteed once at least one booking with a valid deposit is received. Thuneyo Safaris guarantees all confirmed departures, subject to itinerary changes or health and safety concerns—excluding cancellations due to Force Majeure. If Thuneyo Safaris cancels a tour for reasons unrelated to Force Majeure or your actions, you may choose to receive:
We are not responsible for any incidental expenses or losses, such as visa costs, non-refundable transport or bookings, or lost income. Thuneyo Safaris may opt to issue a full refund instead of offering alternatives.
If a major part of the tour cannot be delivered after departure, we will try to offer a suitable alternative. If no suitable option is available, or if you reasonably decline it, we may refund the unused portion at our discretion.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
You are responsible for carrying a valid passport and securing all necessary visas, permits, and certificates for your trip. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. Please check the Essential Trip Information for specific requirements. Thuneyo Safaris is not liable if you are denied entry to a country due to missing or incorrect travel documents.
FLEXIBILITY & UNUSED SERVICES
You acknowledge that adventure travel requires flexibility and agree to allow Thuneyo Safaris to make reasonable changes to itineraries, services, or accommodations. Routes, schedules, transport, and activities may change without notice due to unforeseen events beyond our control (e.g., Force Majeure, illness, strikes, flight issues, or border delays). No refunds or discounts will be given for missed or unused services after departure, including cases where you’re removed from the tour due to your own negligence or breach of terms.
THE TOUR OPERATOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS
Thuneyo Safaris works with independent third-party suppliers such as hotels, airlines, transport providers, and activity operators to deliver parts of your tour. While we carefully select these suppliers, we do not control or supervise them and are not liable for their actions or omissions. Their services are governed by their own terms, conditions, and legal limitations, which may restrict their liability. You acknowledge that these suppliers operate under the laws of their respective countries, and Thuneyo Safaris does not guarantee compliance with laws outside those jurisdictions.
RISK
The tour leader or representative has the final say on all matters affecting the safety and well-being of the tour. You are required to comply with all local laws, customs, and regulations, including those related to foreign exchange and drugs. Failure to do so may result in your removal from the tour without refund or legal recourse.
AMENDMENTS
If you wish to change your booking, Thuneyo Safaris will try to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee it. Any approved changes may incur additional supplier charges plus a USD $100 administration fee. All amendment requests must be made in writing by the person who made the original booking.
If you request to transfer to another tour, you will be responsible for any supplier cancellation costs, and a 20% administration fee based on the original tour price, payable before the new booking is confirmed. Please review our Terms and Conditions before travel for the latest information.
PHOTOS AND MARKETING
By joining the trip, you consent to Thuneyo Safaris using your images taken during the tour for advertising and promotional purposes in any media. You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, and irrevocable license to use these images for publicity unless otherwise stated in your contract.
Expelling Tour Members
Thuneyo Safaris reserves the right to remove any participant from a tour if their behavior poses a risk to themselves, the environment, or negatively affects others’ experience. No refund will be provided, and the individual will be responsible for their own travel arrangements from the point of expulsion.
Privacy Policy
Your personal information may be used for trip operations or to send you promotional material about our tours and offers. It may be shared with our agents and service providers as needed. Your data will be handled according to our privacy policy, available on our website.
