Nyungwe Forest is among the greatly safeguarded montane rainforests in the whole of Africa. It extends over an expanse of 970 sq km and offers breathtaking scenery looking over the forest plus Lake Kivu, in addition to sights to the north of the far away volcanoes of Parc National des Virunga.
Day 1.
On arrival to the Land of A Thousand Hills, you’ll meet and greet your special safaris driver at the airport in Kigali. Depending on time of arrival, we can plan for a city excursion where you can get to explore Kigali genocide memorial
After and early breakfast, you will be picked by our travel guide and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Pak to trek chimpanzee. One hour is the maximum time allowed to observe and take photos of these primates but these Great Apes are not the only sights to expect from Nyungwe Forest. After tracking the Chimpanzees, you will transfer to experience a guided evening nature walk which will reward you with beautiful sightings of other primates in Nyungwe Forest i.e the Ruwenzori Columbus, L’Hoest’s monkey, The Silver monkey among others.
Day 3: Departure
In the morning, after a well relaxed sleep, transfer to the airport for your return flight.
You will have some stops on your way to Kigali. Some chances to visit the genocide memorial if time allows. Drive out to the airport for departure back home
